Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert medical physics services to support radiation therapy in clinical settings.
- Ensure compliance with regulations quality assurance and safety standards.
- Conduct complex treatment planning and dosimetry calculations.
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient safety and treatment efficacy.
- Participate in the commissioning and calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
- Conduct regular quality assurance tests on treatment delivery systems.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and residents.
- Contribute to research and development projects within the department.
- Provide technical support for clinical trials involving radiation treatments.
Essential Qualifications:
- Masters Degree or higher in Medical Physics or a related field.
- Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of radiation physics radiation safety and treatment techniques.
- Proficient in treatment planning systems and medical imaging technologies.
Desired Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a clinical medical physics environment.
- Experience with comprehensive quality assurance protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with advanced therapy techniques such as IMRT and stereotactic radiosurgery.
- Prior involvement in training programs or educational activities is a plus.
