Interventional Radiology- Technologist (Day Shift)

Shift: 10 HR Days 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs interventional radiology procedures on patients as directed by a physician or licensed provider to assist in diagnosing disease and injury. This role requires adherence to established protocols and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Perform high-quality IR procedures according to exam protocols in a timely manner.
- Communicate with patients using AIDET to ensure correct procedures establish rapport and assess their ability to tolerate the exam.
- Prepare patients and the procedure area by positioning patients adjusting immobilization devices and operating equipment to set exposure factors.
- Adhere to safety requirements infection control policies and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Use sterile techniques when performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintain proper hand hygiene.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area reporting equipment malfunctions and assisting with supply inventory.
- Screen individuals entering the department following approved policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation including patient history requisition charts pregnancy status and consent forms.
- Ensure medical imaging records are properly stored and accessible according to department standards.

- Provide timely and accurate services in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage stress effectively in challenging situations.
- Administer first aid and use emergency equipment as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through courteous service and minimizing wait times.
- Stay current with knowledge education and skills specific to patient care across various age groups.
- Serve as a preceptor training new team members and introducing new services.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited Radiology program.
Experience:
- IR Tech experience preferably in a busy lab. Experience with neuro and trauma procedures is preferred.
Certification/License/Registration:
- BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R) required.
- Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
- Certification in one of the following within two years of hire:
- ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI)
- ARRT Interventional Radiography (ARRT-VI)
- ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CV)
