Duration: 13-week Contract

Shift: 12-hr Nights

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Weekly Pay: $2232 - $2412; (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiothoracic ICU team on a 13-week contract basis. The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgeries including fresh heart transplant patients. This position requires strong clinical skills the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiothoracic ICU including those post-heart transplant and other complex cardiothoracic procedures.
Monitor and assess patients conditions continuously and respond promptly to any changes.
Administer medications treatments and interventions as prescribed.
Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR.
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and post-discharge instructions.
Adhere strictly to hospital policies protocols and standards including infection control measures.
Participate in code situations and assist during emergencies as needed.

Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
Minimum 2 years experience required.
Experience with fresh heart transplant patients is required.
Current ACLS BLS and NIHSS certifications.
Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
