Job Description
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include gathering and reporting patient data implementing orders and performing therapeutic procedures appropriate for the patients age and condition adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Gather and report patient data to the RN.
- Implement patient care orders as directed.
- Perform therapeutic procedures on patients.
- Provide appropriate nursing care as directed by an RN.
- Document patient care and related duties.
- Take patient assignment with the support of an RN.
- Active LPN/LVN license in the state of New York.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience.
- Must be able to take own patient assignment
- Experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Familiarity with vents/trachs/PICC lines.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care.
- Every other weekend required.
- 3x12 hour NIGHT shifts.
