Job Summary

Senior Data Engineer

6 month contract

Jersey City NJ Hybrid

Core Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Automation: Enhance and optimize data pipelines (about half are already automated). Work with Databricks (Delta Lake Spark) and integrate multiple data sources (Kafka APIs Oracle DB Informatica).
Dashboarding & Reporting: Deliver executive-ready Power BI dashboards KPIs and reporting suites. Heavy use of DAX star schema modeling real-time integrations.
Architecture & Governance: Contribute to building out a Databricks Lakehouse ensure data governance and security leverage cloud platforms (Azure AWS).
Workflow Orchestration: Use Airflow / Azure Data Factory to automate pipelines and workflows.

Must-Have Skills

8 years in data engineering/analytics ideally in banking/financial services.
Expert Power BI (dashboarding DAX schema design real-time).
Databricks / PySpark / SQL for scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
Cloud-native tools (Azure AWS).
Workflow automation (Airflow ADF).
Strong ability to work independently under pressure.
