As an Electrician at BAT youll play a key role in maintaining and improving our manufacturing operations. Youll lead major preventive maintenance overhauls installations and commissioning of key technologies such as the Protos Cigarette Maker GD Cigarette Packer or KDF Filter Maker.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Responding to plant breakdowns and ensuring minimal production disruption
- Performing planned inspections and preventive maintenance
- Supporting electrical network management and ensuring >95% plant availability
- Participating in utilities shutdowns and providing detailed electrical scopes
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with Environmental Health & Safety standards
- Supporting production teams with timely electrical solving
- Installing and commissioning equipment upgrades and special projects
- Maintaining clean and organized workspaces and control panels
- Delivering PM schedules for MV/LV substations and distribution boards
- Monitoring utilities and collecting performance data
- Reporting plant conditions and supporting machinery installations
- Ensuring machine safety and proper maintenance
- Documenting all significant work and participating in departmental projects
- Championing IWS (Integrated Work Systems) for improved productivity and safety
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Min. 3 years experience with Utility Equipment (e.g. Power Generation Steam Boilers HVAC Water Treatment etc.)
- At least 2 years in an FMCG environment
- MV Switching Certificate (ORHVS)
- N4 Electrical Engineering Trade Test
- Strong experience with Medium Voltage systems in manufacturing
- Excellent communication collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and apply electrical drawings
- Knowledge of spare parts planning and basic costing
