THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT CITY OF RICHMOND POLICE LIEUTENANTS ONLY
The City of Richmond Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Captain.This position will provide senior level management of all police operations within a precinct or other major departmental area.
Overseeing general field operations including: supervising patrol and other staff operations; making tactical and operational decisions assuming command at major crime incidents implementing crime reduction and special community projects while overseeing the completion of all administrative and managerial functions. The Captain is responsible for planning organizing and implementing programs within major organizational units; reporting progress of major activities to executive level management. This position will also perform other duties as required by the Chief of Police.
In accordance with the Richmond Coalition of Police (RCOP) and the City of Richmond Collective Bargaining Agreement Article 12 Section 3 (Part 2. Promotions)
