Works as part of a team to analyze production system problems and recommend workable solutions. Participate in work sessions for installations and problem resolution. Performs work under direct supervision. Possesses basic to moderate working knowledge of subject matter.
Government Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance which requires applicants to be a U.S. Citizen.
Location:
This is a Full-time (40 hours a week Monday-Friday) position offering a flexible work schedule of 3 days a week in office (Tues-Thurs) and 2 days (Mon/Fri) in Columbia SC.
Work Environment:
Fast paced multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
What Youll Do:
Install test and maintain systems software.
Research and analyze basic systems software problems and recommend workable solutions or escalate as appropriate. May troubleshoot for one or more monitoring tools. Escalates issues for resolution when necessary.
Cross train in all areas of systems programming in order to gain knowledge and efficiently perform on-call rotation.
Analyze efficiency availability and performance of systems and provide data needed to make recommendations for improvements.
Assist in internal and external audits being performed across multiple lines of business for multiple platforms.
To Qualify for This Position Youll Need the Following:
Required Education:
Bachelors in a job related field
Degree Equivalency:
Associates degree plus an extra 2 years job related work experience for a total of 3 years of required work experience (see required work experience)
OR
5 total years required work experience.
Required Work Experience:
Successful completion of BCBS Entry Level Training Program (ELTP) OR 1 Year Programming experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
Able to acquire thorough understanding of currently utilized programming productivity tools and their use.
Able to acquire knowledge of programming languages and tools used in the department.
Proficient verbal and written communication customer service and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail with ability to follow and understand technical instructions and documentation.
Familiar with programming languages and operating systems.
Required Software and Other Tools:
Microsoft Office.
