Ferguson Township is seeking a dynamic community-focused Assistant Township Manager for a two-year appointment to support the Township Manager in overseeing municipal operations advancing innovation and equity and ensuring effective delivery of services.
This position plays a key leadership role in strategic initiatives community engagement and day-to-day administration while serving as Acting Township Manager when needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Township Manager in policies procedures and administration.
- Lead strategic planning performance management and equity initiatives.
- Oversee assigned staff including the Communications Coordinator.
- Manage Township communications and ensure transparency.
- Collaborate on budget development financial analysis and grant management.
- Represent the Township at public meetings and community events.
- Coordinate interdepartmental projects IT initiatives and organizational development.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Masters in Public Administration Business Administration or related field strongly preferred.
- Bachelors 3 years progressive local government experience required (or equivalent).
- Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to navigate community dynamics with political acumen and sound judgment.
- Commitment to equity innovation and continuous improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The position is primarily office-based with occasional outdoor site visits and community events. Evening and weekend hours may be required to attend meetings or special functions.
TERM OF APPOINTMENT: This is a two-year term position with Ferguson Township. Continuation beyond the initial appointment will be subject to Township needs and future staffing considerations.
