About the role

As an Intelligence Officer you will play a key role in supporting the prevention detection and investigation of crime across Barnet. Working closely with the Community Safety Team (CST) and Corporate Anti-Fraud Team (CAFT) you will be responsible for collecting analysing and disseminating intelligence and data to support enforcement and community safety initiatives.

You will manage intelligence-related duties contribute to performance monitoring and ensure compliance with legislation such as the Data Protection Act and Human Rights Act. Your work will support a wide range of activities from environmental crime and anti-social behaviour to fraud investigations and strategic planning. This is a varied and rewarding role that requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.


About you
  • You have proven administrative experience and are confident handling confidential and sensitive information in a secure and professional manner.
  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and can quickly learn new software systems.
  • You have strong analytical skills and can interpret complex information to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • You are politically aware and able to manage interactions with senior officers and elected Members with professionalism and discretion.
  • You are experienced in working collaboratively within teams and multi-agency partnerships to achieve positive outcomes.
  • You are able to manage a varied workload prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences including the public senior management and external partners.
  • You are confident in providing accurate advice and guidance to service users and stakeholders.
  • You are committed to delivering high standards of customer care and service excellence.
  • You are adaptable solution-focused and contribute positively to a collaborative and open team culture.
