The Extraboard Bus Driver will under general supervision drive all types and sizes of district or contract carrier school buses on extraboard trips or when substituting for regularly scheduled school or contract carrier bus drivers; provide extraboard services dispatch relief and data reporting for transportation operations.

- Work Schedule: There are two (2) current vacancies scheduled for:11months per year / 37.5 hours per week.

- Positions greater than 20 hours per week qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
- Vacancies thatrequirethe incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish will be considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.
- Future Extraboard Bus Driver Vacancies:
o Positions in this classification may work 10 or 11 months of the year.
o Set schedules for positions in this classification can vary with both part time and full-time schedules (35 hours per week or 37.5 hours per week).
o To be eligible for future vacancies complete an application.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training experience and/or education equivalent to one year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience within the last three years in any district job Classified involving the regular operation of school buses on public streets and highways.
NOTE: Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Possession of a valid California Special Drivers certificate for School Buses with valid first aid certificate if of a valid California Classified A or B drivers license with a passenger transportation of a valid D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) approved medical moving citations or chargeable accidents in the applicants driving history within 37 calendar months prior to the application date will be evaluated and may be considered disqualifying. Personality and character traits suited to supervision and care of children of multiple ethnicities and cultural values behavioral and physical handicaps.
