The Oakland Public Works Academy Trainee program was made to help people ages 18 to 30 who live in Oakland get work experience and learn job skills. The program also helps them get better at finding and keeping a job. It focuses on training people to work as Park Attendants Office Assistants and Custodians. The goal is to create a strong group of young workers who are interested in working for the City of Oaklands Public Works Department.

We are looking for someone who is:
Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the eighth or twelfth grade depending on assignment.
Experience:
None required.
The Recruitment Process:

Disaster Service Workers
All employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employeesare required tocomplete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned and to return to work as orderedin the event ofan emergency.
