Job Summary

For Holiday Coverage Travelers are REQUIRED to work TWO of the following timeframes:

- Thanksgiving and the following Friday/weekend

- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and the following Friday/weekend

- New Years Eve/New Years Day and the following Friday/weekend

Please note that any requests for extensions to conclude in November or prior to the commencement of December holidays will NOT be considered for extensions at the beginning of 2026.

Reports to: Food Services Director

Patient Population: All age groups

Candidates must be able to move independently.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS (This list is not exhaustive):

- Evaluate assess and plan nutrition care to address the dietary requirements of patients.

- Assess patients nutritional status utilizing documented medical information and established nutritional standards. - Counsel patients and/or families by identifying nutrition-related issues and develop instructional plans and nutritional care while monitoring outcomes.

- Identify inpatients at nutritional risk and document appropriate recommendations.

- Diagnose and create interventions for patients suffering from malnutrition.

- Participate in physicians rounds discharge planning meetings and conferences with implications for nutrition. - Conduct educational programs for patients community organizations and staff.

- Precept and mentor new and existing staff members in specialized clinical areas.

- Develop therapeutic relationships with various subspecialty care team members and providers to facilitate comprehensive patient care.

- Provide cross-coverage across a wider range of patient care areas and subspecialties as necessary. - Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of CURRENT experience as a Hospital Dietitian

- Required experience in a rural hospital setting

- Current Vermont Dietitian license

- Current registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration

- Bachelors degree in Nutrition from an accredited institution required

- The permanent address of the candidate must be included in the profile

- Travelers must possess their own vehicle for this position

Certification Requirements

- BLS (American Heart Association)
