Job Description
Spray Finisher II -Paint (1st Shift)
Position Summary: Embrace the opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Spray Finisher II - Paint in our ambitious manufacturing team located in Asheville. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a flawless finish on our world-class products contributing to our mission of making the world healthier cleaner and safer!
Responsibilities:
- Follow the paint production schedule to determine parts to load ensuring efficient coverage of finish.
- Receive instructions on parts to be painted and fill the paint hopper with the specified powder matching paint number with part number.
- Check spray gun adjustments such as air/paint mixture pressure gauges and fluid control.
- Conduct paint tests for quality control complete daily logs and tag parts as needed.
- Inspect parts in the staging area to verify accurate identification and ensure parts are free of any defects.
- Deliver painted parts and kits to specified departments or store them in designated racks.
- Reorder raw materials and finished parts using the Kanban inventory system maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Adhere to safety procedures and use required safety equipment maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Engage in initiatives that support team goals and continuous improvement processes.
- Communicate effectively within the cell and with other departments relaying key information.
- Train and mentor new employees ensuring adherence to the Code of Ethics and 4-I Values.
- Apply computer systems for email online training and complete the Performance Management and Development (PMD) annual review process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Ability to stand bend reach and handle bulky parts frequently and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Beginner computer skills or willingness to learn.
- Ability to read and differentiate part numbers labels and work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-6 months of manufacturing experience.
- General knowledge of spray finish tools and processes.
