QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate or graduate studying Education History Pre-Law or related field. Experience in public speaking social media management writing and/or education programming preferred.

COMPETENCIES

  • Passion for Education: Intern should have a strong interest in education.
  • Legal Studies Not Required: Interest in pursuing further education in Law is not a requirement for the position.
  • Time Management: Intern must be able to work within deadlines.
  • Collaborative & Independent Work: Intern should be comfortable working both independently and with staff.

This internship is designed to be part-time (10 hours per week) beginning after January 1 2026 and ending before May 1 2026. Applicants must have the ability to schedule most on-site hours in Columbus between 8:00 am 5:00 pm weekdays (scheduling is flexible within these hours). If your university program offers credit for internships we will try to tailor the internship to the length/hours desired. This position will pay $17 per hour to undergraduate students and $21 per hour to graduate students. Intern positions are only eligible for public retirement benefits through OPERS.

What Youll Do:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Research & Content Development:Assist with research writing and content development for educational resources and programs.
  • Guided Tours:Facilitate partial or full guided tours for audiences of all ages.
  • Social Media Campaigns:Create content and ongoing campaigns to promote Civic Education on the Courts social media platforms.
  • Outreach & Promotion:Promote the Courts education initiatives at off-site outreach events.
  • Administrative Support:Complete administrative tasks to support daily operations.

STAFF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Intern in Civic Education. The Civic Education Intern supports the Civic Education Coordinator by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. This role focuses on social media tours and administrative support to Civic Education.
