A Day in the Life of a Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is seeking a collaborative visionary leader to serve as our next Director of Marketing and Public Relations. This role is responsible for advancing CRMCs mission by strengthening our brand shaping public perception and fostering meaningful engagement with patients providers and the broader community.

The Director will oversee a talented marketing and PR team providing direction on creative campaigns media relations and community events while fostering a culture of openness collaboration and professional growth. They will guide executive communications - including CEO messages financial reporting summaries and the written strategic plan - ensuring clarity consistency and alignment with organizational priorities. Serving as both a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the organizations media spokesperson this individual will craft and deliver messages that build trust and elevate CRMCs reputation as a leader in healthcare. Working closely with physicians executives and the Director of Foundation and Community Engagement the Director will ensure marketing strategies and public initiatives are unified impactful and reflective of CRMCs values.

This position is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment values partnership and feedback and is passionate about shaping the voice and brand of a mission-driven healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead CRMCs marketing and public relations strategy across digital traditional and social channels to elevate brand visibility.

2. Oversee creative development and campaigns ensuring all events media and collateral reflect CRMCs brand standards.

3. Guide executive communications (CEO messages system updates financial summaries strategic plans) with clarity and consistency.

4. Collaborate with the Foundation & Community Engagement team on fundraising and community initiatives to ensure unified impact.

5. Mentor and empower a high-performing marketing team while managing departmental resources and budget effectively.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism Marketing Public Relations
  • Proven leadership experience in marketing public relations or communications within a healthcare or a mission-driven organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to craft executive-level communications and serve as a media spokesperson.
  • Strong track record of collaborating with physicians executives and community partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience guiding creative teams to develop impactful campaigns events and brand assets across digital print and social media.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and campaign performance using insights to refine strategies.
  • Skilled in balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and inspire a high-performing team.

Preferred

  • Public Relations certification
  • Masters degree in a related field

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range listed above is the estimated starting pay range for this role. Actual pay rate offered depends on many factors including each individuals experience level preferred education/certifications along with market conditions.
