Description

The finance systems solutions (FSS) department is seeking a well-organized detail-oriented professional who likes the challenge of variety and possesses excellent time management skills to join our team as a Senior Training Specialist!

The Senior Training Specialist functions as the lead trainer delivering training to Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller employees as well as Board of County Commissioner employees. This position provides senior member duties and has developed specialized skills and knowledge of the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptrollers systems.

This position is also responsible for maintaining current systems knowledge including upgrades changes and modifications to those systems. This position may also provide training support on calls relating to the supported systems.

Examples of Essential Functions

  • Designs and develops training programs and customized materials utilizing effective and accepted teaching methodologies.
  • Performs in-depth training needs analyses in identifying knowledge and skills required for effective use of all systems supported.
  • Performs in-depth training evaluations for employees regarding knowledge and skills for newly implemented or modified applications.
  • Provides first level training support for users of the Finance Department and County software systems and serves as a functional/ technical resource to system users providing assistance and resolves questions.
  • Assist in the review and development of test cases and plans for new applications or releases of the supported systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of training adult learning and electronic learning technologies for application to the training functions/needs of employees.
  • Prepares and maintains training facilities and training facilities schedule; monitors equipment and materials to ensure proper working condition and adequate supply levels.
  • Evaluates and recommends performance and organizational solutions to improve overall operations as appropriate.
  • Research evaluate and recommends new training programs resources and materials; evaluates the effectiveness of existing training programs and prepares and presents recommendations for changes or upgrades to existing programs.
  • Plans and participates in organizational projects and initiatives; presents information at department interdepartmental management and professional meetings.
  • Advises employees on professional development options including training course selection and learning resources.
  • Maintains a library of both electronic and hard copy training resource materials e.g. presentation electronic media videos enrollment and participation records.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelors degree with course work emphasis in Adult Education Communications Business Administration or related field is required.

Additional experience is accepted as a minimum requirement in lieu of a post-secondary degree on the following basis: additional four (4) years in lieu of a bachelors degree and additional two (2) years in lieu of an associate degree.

Five (5) years of recent relevant and progressively responsible broad training and development work experience addition must be experienced in delivering training to individuals and groups in a formal setting. Requires in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of current automated business systems with demonstrated oral and written communication skills and knowledge of effective instruction and teaching principles and techniques.

Experience working with Advantage Financials OnBase PeopleSoft or similar medium to large ERP preferred.
