Job Description

Description

The Seasonal Reader will need to commit to reading and committee time for approximately 17-24 hours per week in early December and throughout January and February. Some committee work may be scheduled in early March. Reading will happen during regular work hours (8:30 am-4:30 pm Eastern Time Zone) on weekdays. Reading and committee work will be conducted remotely.All readers are required to attend 7-14 hours of reader training in the fall which may be in person at the Admission Office or remote. Additional mandatory training sessions may be offered through webinars and other online tools at the readers convenience.

Due to payroll tax requirements the successful candidate must be located in one of the following states: New York or Massachusetts.

Primary Duties

  1. Work in partnership with admission counselors in reviewing applications of candidates for admission.
  2. Participate in team-based reading process which involves analyzing academic credentials reviewing recommendations personal essays and other application documents providing a summary. evaluation and decision recommendation for each applicant
  3. Participate in Admission Committee reviews.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Strong reading writing and assessment skills
  • Solid technical/computer skills including regular use of email and ability to use online tools effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment in collaboration with a diverse group of colleagues
  • Access to reliable high-speed internet service
  • Previous application evaluation experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelors degree required

Pay rate: $25.00/hour
