Description

The Office of Psychological Services is a progressive office providing consultation assessment and intervention services to all students in a large very diverse suburban school district. The internship is designed to meet standards of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).



Responsibilities

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

The intern will provide a range of school psychological services consistent with their training and with the needs of the Baltimore County Public Schools at the direction of their field supervisor. Services include but are not limited to:

  • Attending school teams.
  • Conducting formal and informal student and classroom observations.
  • Conducting psychological assessments curriculum based assessments and functional behavioral assessments.
  • Writing assessment reports.
  • Providing instructional and behavioral consultation.
  • Providing individual and group counseling.
  • Offering staff development activities as determined by the field supervisor.
  • Attending staff meetings and Clinical Supervision sessions as scheduled throughout the school year.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Training and Experience

  • Enrolled in a NASP and/or APA Approved Graduate Program in School Psychology.
  • Graduate Program must recommend the applicant for an internship (as indicated in at least one letter of reference from a graduate program faculty member)



REFERENCES
Two letters of recommendation are required (1 from a faculty member in the applicants graduate program and one from a field-based experience/practicum supervisor if possible). Letters of recommendation may be submitted to Shannon Parker HR Analyst at

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The work of this class entails physical activities such as walking and standing lifting and carrying and related physical duties associated with assisting travel to various BCPS worksites.


SALARY:Anticipated Stipend of $ 24000.00* (*with anticipated completion date of June 30th)

  • All people employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools regular and temporary are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109.

  • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
  • Official transcripts will be required upon hire and must be sent via escript/clearinghouse from your university.
  • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
