We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Paralegal to join our small but dedicated this pivotal role youll take the lead in managing litigation case files coordinating e-filing in state and federal courts drafting and responding to discovery and ensuring all deadlines and documentation stay on track. Youll be expected to take ownership of your caseload support attorneys in trial preparation and help bring structure and clarity to our digital and physical filing systems. What youll do:
- Document Drafting and Court Filings: Prepare pleadings motions affidavits and supporting legal documents across a range of practice areas. Ensure filings are timely procedurally accurate and properly submitted through state and local e-filing systems.
- Case Organization and Records Management: Maintain both digital and physical case files ensuring discovery documents correspondence and evidentiary materials are current accessible and organized to support active litigation.
- Discovery Coordination and Support: Assist attorneys in issuing and responding to discovery requests managing document production and preparing for depositions. Track responses and ensure discovery deadlines are met.
- Client Communication and Case Updates: Engage directly with clients providers and opposing counsel to gather information schedule meetings and deliver clear professional updates on case progress with empathy and discretion.
- Trial and Hearing Readiness: Compile and organize trial materials including binders exhibits and witness lists. Support attorneys in preparing for hearings and maintaining high case readiness standards.
- Operational Efficiency and Workflow Enhancement: Contribute to improving internal workflows including file naming conventions and case documentation practices. Bring clarity and structure to evolving processes as the firm scales.
What were looking for:
- Experience and Legal Background: 35 years of paralegal or litigation support experience preferably in personal injury civil litigation or related practice areas. Comfortable managing both plaintiff- and defense-side responsibilities.
- Legal Acumen: Familiarity with procedural rules and filing requirements across Georgia state and local courts. Brings a working knowledge of e-filing protocols discovery standards and trial preparation.
- Organizational Excellence: Highly detail-oriented with a track record of managing multiple deadlines across a caseload of 5075 matters. Demonstrates strong time management and task prioritization skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Experienced with legal case management software (e.g. CasePeer MyCase) and Microsoft Office Suite. Able to learn new systems quickly and contribute to improving workflow efficiency.
- Initiative and Team Support: Takes ownership of litigation files from intake through trial prep. Proactive self-starting and reliable in supporting attorneys clients and co-workers in a fast-paced collaborative setting.
