Job Description

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Go Engineer to join our growing Digital Assets Technology team in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading proprietary trading firm with an entrepreneurial and innovative culture at the heart of its business. Software Engineers at Flow Traders build and maintain applications that are core to our business. Our systems enable Flow Traders to remain competitive on exchanges worldwide. Youll work on a variety of systems from low-latency components that receive market data and place orders to robust pipelines that process large volumes of data reliably and efficiently.

In this role youll be part of a small business-aligned team working closely with Traders and Quantitative Researchers. This tight feedback loop ensures immediate insight into the impact of your work and encourages ownership. We emphasize code quality shared libraries reusability and evolving architectural best practices all within an agile environment.


What you will do

  • Design and implement efficient scalable microservices in Go while also working with our core systems built in Java and Rust
  • Write clean maintainable Go code that leverages concurrency and performance optimizations ensuring consistency across a multi-language codebase
  • Collaborate with engineers traders and quants to deliver features end-to-end bridging work across different technology stacks
  • Grow your Go expertise while expanding your knowledge of Java and Rust ecosystems and distributed system design
  • As one of the first Go engineers in the company facilitate setting the standard and sharing Go best practices with the wider engineering team

What you need to succeed

  • BSc or MSc in Computing Science Mathematics or other quantitative fields
  • 2 years working experience in professional software development using Go
  • 7 years working experience in software development
  • Motivation and openness to learn Rust and Java with support and mentorship from the team
  • In-depth knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Experience in parallel and multithreaded programming
  • Ability to communicate with technical and business colleagues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Strong sense of teamwork and ownership and willingness to learn new skills
  • Interest in crypto trading and blockchain technology is a big plus
