The institute focuses on cutting-edge research in quantum technologies advanced materials and sensor development.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to lead critical research activities in the development of quantum-grade nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center diamonds and their application in advanced magnetometry systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes for growing ultra-pure single-crystal diamonds with controlled nitrogen-vacancy center formation
Implement sustainable synthesis protocols for 12C-isotope enriched diamond fabrication including gas recirculation systems and process optimization
Collaborate to execute precision nitrogen doping strategies for deterministic NV center placement
Collaborate and execute project deliverables for successful NV center diamond-based devices such as vector magnetometer and wide-field RF sensor
Collaborate with team members across multiple institutions including DSO National Laboratories and A*STAR
Prepare technical reports research papers and presentations for project milestones and deliverables
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in Physics Materials Science Solid State Chemistry or related field with specialization in diamond technologies and advanced materials characterization techniques
At least 3 years of relevant experience in diamond CVD growth or similar synthesis techniques
Proficiency in cleanroom fabrication processes and materials characterization techniques
Experience with optical spectroscopy and microwave engineering
Good writing skills for writing proposals reports and publications in good academic journals
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team environment
Experience with vacuum systems plasma processes and gas handling systems preferred
Knowledge of quantum information science and quantum sensing applications highly desirable
