About the opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Enablement team within our Platform Engineering Domain at N26.
Our mission in Platform Engineering is to deliver trusted performant and self-service platforms that empower product teams to build the bank the world loves to use. The Platform Enablement team plays a crucial role by providing a suite of tools that boost engineering efficiency while upholding high standards of security and compliance.
At N26 our cross-functional teams value collaboration autonomy and knowledge-sharing. As a Senior Backend Engineer youll work on complex and meaningful challenges using modern technology and youll be encouraged to stay on the cutting edge of industry developments.

This role is a Hybrid role based in our Berlin or Barcelona offices.
In this role you will:
- Design develop test deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
- Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology.
- Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product.
What you need to be successful::
- Significant experience in developing software using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems.
- Solid experience with software development best practices and software architectures (Distributed systems Domain Driven Design Testing).
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- Previous experience with cloud architectures preferably with AWS.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Hands-on experience developing and/or operating event streaming platforms (preferably Kafka).
