As a member of CIBCs Core banking and Payments technology team the Consultant - Application Development is responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using various technology platforms. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions. The Senior Application Developer/Consultant determines methods and approaches to projects transforming business requirements specifications into programming instructions designing coding and testing programs. As a seasoned Java Developer you will build implement and maintain flexible and modular solutions that enhance the client experience across lines of businesses. Youll assist with the planning and strategy for the technical design development and integration of the applications.

How Youll Succeed
Design and Development - Lead API design by analyzing business requirements and following high-level design. Lead API development following the right design patterns and best practices. Be good at coding complex systems and business logic effectively. Be good at modern development concepts and processes both understanding and practice.
Continuous Improvement - Be the advocate for continuous improvement in both processes and best practices. Firm believer in the quality of work and high productivity. Be able to bring a positive influence on the team you work with. Having the right understanding of modern technology and modern development culture is an asset.
Operational Efficiency - Lead next-level support for operational activities. Be good at problem-solving and troubleshooting and have a sound understanding of performance tuning
Mentorship skills - Be able to coach junior developers in the team and provide technical guidance
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience with 8 years of experience in Java/J2EE Spring/Springboot Web Services (SOAP JSON and RESTFul). Proven and solid hands-on experience in Microservices and API development in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience in Spring State Machine or equivalent experience. It is an asset if you are familiar with Agile methodologies and Cloud environments (Azure/OCP Kubernetes or equivalent)
