ROLE SUMMARY
This role reports into the Pfizer Core Operations group. Core Operations is part of the Controllers organization in Pfizer and plays a vital role in the collection consolidation and reporting of financial information for the company as well as the preparation of metrics over various financial reporting areas. The team collaborates with global market regional and HQ Business Finance as it relates to various data collection activities (sales trial balance inventory markup and supplemental/disclosure data) data submission requirements systems/process training and financial reporting & analysis (both internal and external).
This position within the Core Operations group is responsible for the preparation/review of key financial schedules/analytics and execution of financial reporting processes that are critical to the consolidated financial reporting both internally and externally for accomplishing this the individual in this role will interact with colleagues globally across numerous functions within Pfizers Finance & Business Operations organization and will be expected to not only execute their job responsibilities with a high degree of integrity and quality and be an active contributor to continuous improvement initiatives. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of the monthly Flash Package:
- Prepare and analyze schedules in the Monthly Flash Package (P&L reporting) provided to senior management in preparation for the quarterly Earnings Review Meeting with the Controller
- Participate in and assist in preparing minutes of pre-quarter Controllers meetings monthly BU Finance meetings and quarterly Earnings meetings and related follow-up for assigned areas
Support the preparation of the quarterly Balance Sheet Analysis Package
- Provide robust/value-added analysis of balance sheet activity (for those accounts assigned) reported in FCCS through interaction with business partners knowledge of business operations and effective use of financial systems/tools
- Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve data quality or process efficiency in the normal course of this work; partner as necessary with supervisor and process stakeholders
Support the preparation of the quarterly Cash Flow Statement and Disclosures
- Prepare analysis of FCCS webform data in support of the preparation of the statement of cash flows
- Analyze FCCS webform data used in the preparation of quarterly and annual footnote disclosures and to support quarterly balance sheet analysis review
Support other activities as a member of the overall Core Operations team:
- Drive and/or participate in special projects requiring analytical skills and knowledge of systems and processes related to business acquisitions and divestitures financial systems implementations and changes in accounting policy among others.
- Prepare select financial statement and footnote disclosures for inclusion in external filings 10K/Q including related External Reporting tasks as applicable using Wdesk.
- Review and/or prepare metrics over financial reporting for Senior Management with a focus on continuous improvement geared toward improved presentation of data and conveyance of information to Senior Management.
- Effectively use FCCS reporting tools to support financial analysis and detailed tasks assigned in the Flash Package Balance Sheet Analysis Cash Flow Statement and disclosures
- Interact with and addresses questions from all business finance partners regarding reporting issues analysis of results and need for adjusting entries. Examine reports and/or other financial information from the field and prepare and process adjusting journal entries as necessary
- Participate in identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities to sustain the move towards best in class processes
- Ensure key internal controls are properly identified and functioning as designed prepare monthly/quarterly documentation and test when needed in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Support interactions and needs of internal and external auditors to ensure the completion of quarterly/annual audits
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicant must have a bachelors degree with at least 4 years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting capacity; OR a masters degree with at least 2 years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting capacity; OR a PhD with 0 years of experience; OR as associates degree with 8 years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting capacity; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience in an accounting or financial reporting capacity
- Competency with Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS) or other financial reporting/consolidation software is a plus. Fluency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements which enables participation in a broad spectrum of accounting/financial reporting tasks/projects.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $86800.00 to $144600.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
