Job Summary

Overview

Norbar Torque Tools a member of the Snap-on Incorporated family of companies is seeing a buyer to join our team. The buyer will purchase goods and services maintain purchase data adjust stocking levels to demand and assist with vendor setup/maintenance. This role works closely with the engineering sales groups warehouse staff and inter-companygroups.

Responsibilities

Purchases goods and services according to Norbar policies and procedures.
Assist engineering and sales team with part number setup and maintenance.
Plan and coordinate purchase from inter-companywarehouses to support demand
Update business system to maintain accurate delivery schedules.
Evaluates usage and coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
Evaluates vendors based on price reliability capability and previous transaction history.
Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts and other available discounts.
Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
Coordinate addition of new vendors into the business system
Maintain pricing histories and other vendor records.
Assist with production planning.
Assist with inventory control.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Capable of understanding basic manufacturing prints relative to purchase requirements

Education and Experience:
Experience purchasing in an industrial manufacturing environment is highly desirable
At least two years of purchasing experience required.
Associate or bachelors degree in a related field is desirable.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
