Job Summary
Are you an experienced Head Nurse or senior nurse leader looking for your next challenge At Hamilton Vets were searching for a motivated and supportive Head Nurse to lead our dedicated team and play a key role in the day-to-day running of our busy well-equipped clinic.

Hamilton Vets is a thriving small animal clinic proudly supporting our community with high-quality veterinary care. Alongside our modern facilities we also operate a popular boarding cattery.
Weve recently invested in new X-ray and dental machines and our team has the advantage of being based in the same building as the Veterinary Referral Services
clinic providing access to specialist expertise and collaboration when needed.
As part of Franklin Vets youll also be backed by a well-established support office covering HR finance marketing IT And Inventory so you can focus on leadership and clinical excellence.
The Role
As Head Nurse youll provide strong leadership to our 6 veterinary nurses while working closely with our team of veterinarians and offering guidance and support to our customer service team of 3. This is a leadership-focused role with a balance of hands-on clinical work and people management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading mentoring and developing the nursing team
- Supporting and guiding the customer service team
- Rostering training and performance management
- Maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and client service
- Working alongside the Branch Manager and vets to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Driving a positive professional and collaborative team culture
- Participating in the weekend roster (1 in 6)
What Were Looking For
- A qualified veterinary nurse (Diploma or Bachelors)
- Proven experience in a leadership or head nurse role within a veterinary clinic
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A confident proactive leader who enjoys supporting and developing people
- Someone who thrives in a busy progressive clinical environment
