DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The engineering supervisor is responsible for supervising subordinate engineering staff. Under general direction supervises the completion of large complex engineering unit design including reviewing designs and drawings for compliance with safety and design standards also customer specifications. Devise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings specifications calculations and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes accepted engineering practices.
Responsibility to meet KPIs and achieve organization objectives following Vertiv behaviors and Vertiv Operation System.
RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but not limited to)
- Plan direct and review the work of an organizational unit
- Manage staff workload
- Establish performance requirements and technical standards
- Provide technical and professional guidance
- Develop engineering standards and procedures
- Conducts in-house design reviews and technical meetings
- Supports the interfaces with customers and contractors
- Prepares design specifications analyses and recommendations
- Interface with other departments to complete product designs
- Supports application engineering and sales to create custom design quotes
- Understands and implements project management fundamentals
- Interacts with manufacturing engineering and operations to solve engineering design issues
- Supports the monthly/quarterly sales plan
- Discover root cause of and solutions to performance functionality yield reliability and other issues related to electrical design work orders or BOMs
- Works closely with management to achieve department goals
- Communicate clearly verbally and in writing to management concerning project schedule quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities cost estimates etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electro-Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering or any other related
- Deep understanding and experience with electrical systems/components such as industrial control panels panel boards transformers circuit breakers transfer switches power supplies UPS contactors VFDs SPD etc.
- 10 combined experience designing electrical/controls panels motor control centers panel boards industrial machinery or other power/control systems. Experience in leadership roles.
- Experience using 2D and 3D modeling tools
- Knowledge of safety standards such as UL1995 UL508a and NEC.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret plans specifications control drawings service bulletins equipment specifications etc.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers
- Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail; excellent organization skills
- Ability to lead and motive small/medium (3-8) groups of engineers
- History of increasing responsibilities with proven track record of achieving good results
