What youll be doing
Youll be joining CIBCs Core Banking and Payments Technology Quality Engineering (QE) be hands on with all aspects of the systems testing process and provide suggestions that will ensure client needs are met with the highest quality. As an Intermediate Quality Engineer youll be a team lead on CIBCs Technology team assigning and overseeing the execution of test cases. You will have proficiency in designing developing and maintaining automated test scripts using automation tools such as Selenium Cucumber Parasoft or similar tools. Your responsibilities will include end to end testsupport and coordination governance and continuous improvement. Youll create test plans test strategies that include automation strategies and provide cost estimates that will help create the Bank of the future. This role ensures that all testing processes are executed efficiently meet quality standards and align with project timelines. The Intermediate Quality Engineer works closely with project managers developers quality engineers and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

How youll succeed
Testing expertise Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies. Lead the investigation and translation of business and technical requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business. Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans schedules and resource allocations for testing activities. Develop and maintain automated test cases. Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools. Execute test cases (manual/automated) document test results raise defects whenever necessary. Track report and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle ensuring issues are resolved promptly. Prepare and present regular status reports test metrics and risk assessments to project leadership. Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies/frameworks industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Automation expertise Experience in the execution and creation of automation strategies tools and frameworks.
Project coordination Coordinate the efforts of testing teams including internal staff and external vendors to ensure timely completion of test phases. Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a projects timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the the lines of communication open with stakeholders and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure that all test deliverables are received approved and aligned to your projects timeline budget and goals.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate proven 3 years of experience in an automation or equivalent technical role. Good working knowledge of QE processes. Must have hands on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium/Robot framework Parasoft SOAtest Postman Rest Assured Cucumber or similar test tools required for testing REST and Web Services. Preferred language experience on Python and Java and SQL database skills. Ability to build out automated testing scripts and strategies and integrate them with DevOps tools. Experience with test management tools (e.g. JIRA HP ALM) is required. Testing Life Cycle SDLC and Defect Management processes for application testing and support. Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
