Job Description
- Deliver world-class innovative medical education and training with the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia at the Bunbury site.
- Part-time up to (0.3 FTE) appointments on a fixed term basis for one year.
- Base salary range: Level C $144143 $165809 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
- Clinical loading and remote allowances applicable.
About the area
The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA) is a network of 15 rural and remote sites across the Kimberley Pilbara Mid-West Goldfields Great Southern and Southwest regions of Western Australia. It is a collaboration between UWA The University of Notre Dame Australia Fremantle and Curtin Medical School operating as a unit within the UWA School of Medicine. The RCSWA is committed to providing quality teaching research professional development and clinical service in rural and remote settings.
About the opportunity
- Organise and teach RCSWA students support preceptors and host practitioners and implement learning opportunities through collaboration with local agencies.
- Engage in research or evaluation to improve rural health and pursue growth in academic areas such as clinical skills or services based on personal interests.
- Develop local educational programs and rural training pathways in consultation with medical practitioners contributing to both local and statewide RCSWA strategies.
- Contribute to curriculum development assessment marking and provide student mentoring.
About you
- Registered or able to be registered with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Work in the respective RCSWA site and the ability to network with rural practitioners in the region.
- Demonstrated experience as a preceptor and/or supervisor of medical students and/or junior doctors or registrars.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practice of Indigenous health in rural and regional areas.
- Practice medicine in rural WA.
Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate and Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant. The successful applicant will reside in or near Bunbury WA.
