Part-Time Mental Health Worker (Minnetonka) - Community Residential Setting Company Overview: AtResidential Transitions Inc. Our services support people living independently in the community in their own homes as well as in our residential settings. Position Overview: Mental Health Workers operating in a Direct Support (DSP) capacity provide direct support professional services and independent living skills training to the individuals we serve in our 24-hour residential programs. These programs serve the needs of individuals in a home setting that is managed by RTI. Our clients include those with a severe mental illness (SMI) health diagnosis and or traumatic brain injury (TBI) disability. This role reports to the Program manager and has no direct reports.
Role Responsibilities: - Support individuals in independent living skills through 1:1 service.
- Support individuals in mental health management through identifying coping skills practicing coping skills and alternative methods.
- Teach and model community integration skills such as: self-managing medications managing personal finances appropriate interpersonal interactions managing the public transportation system completing the necessary tasks to maintain a home and accessing community resources.
- Interacts informally with individuals to facilitate socialization and appropriate behavior.
- Participates in scheduled and spontaneous recreational events.
- Teaches healthy living habits and develops the accompanying skills.
Required Qualification and Experience: The Mental Health Worker shall be qualified under Minnesota law as follows: - High School Diploma or GED and relevant experienceORBachelors degree in related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check.
- Willingness to travel within the Metro Area for applicable mileage reimbursements with a current drivers license clean record and personal vehicle with insurance; and able to transport clients in that vehicle.
- Possess a person-centered approach consistent with the Philosophical approach of the individual program and RTI
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
- Other as needed as company and role expand or evolves.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in one of the behavioral sciences fieldsOR2000 hours of supervised experience providing clinical services in mental health or childrens emotional care.

- Use hands for writing typing data entry and medication dispensing

- Maintain vision and hearing necessary for reading charts operating office equipment using a computer and driving a vehicle
Compensation:$18 per hour Type:Part-Time Shifts:Tues Thurs Fri 10 AM - 6:30 PM OR Sun Mon Wed Thurs 3:30 PM - 12 AM Location:Minnetonka MN Orientation:Attendance isrequiredfor three full days (MondayWednesday) at our corporate facility in Mendota Heights from 9 AM to 4 PM.
