Job Description
Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the Ortho Clinic functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. The CMA is responsible for direct patient care and clinic including the maintenance of the environment of care and supplies/equipment. The CMA shares the responsibility with other clinicians in ensuring a safe environment for the patient while providing quality care and a positive patient experience. The CMA functions clinically under the authority of the physician within the scope of their certification. The CMA reports to the nurse manager and/or lead nurse who is responsible for the administrative supervision anddirection of staff orientation and annual assessment of competencies and the assurance to clinic specific and hospital policies and procedures.

Hours:Days/40 (Exact Schedule to be determined by manager)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Graduation from anaccredited Medical Assistant training program requiredfor new medical assistants.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Successful completion of CMA certification with the credentials ofRMA NCMA NRCMA CCMA or CMAA prior to hire. Must maintain certification/ registration throughout employment.
- Valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Sound documentation skills
- Knowledge of aseptic technique basic wound care and dressing change principles
- Knowledge of medication administration (oral and injection)
- Knowledge of patient transport and positioning techniques
Salary Range: Minimum $18.15/hour - Maximum $27.65/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
