Job Description

Position type: Hourly

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates computer-controlled milling machines (3 -5 axis); including set-up and program editing with ability to produce advanced components.
  • Frequently reviews work orders blueprints engineering plans materials specifications reference planes locations of surfaces and machining parameters interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to produce machined components.
  • Selects aligns and secures holding fixtures and cutting tools using hand tools and tool length off-set equipment.
  • Perform workpiece in-process inspection by checking accuracy of work against blueprints/specifications using advanced gaging techniques for product conformity.
  • Collaborate with machinists planners programmers and engineers to evaluate needs troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 to 7 years machining experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of concepts practices and procedures involving CNC machines including editing computer-aided software and their applications.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
  • High level proficiency in reading and interpreting machining and fabrication drawings.
  • Solid math geometry and trigonometry skills and understanding GD&T.
  • Strong attention to detail ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as required by production demands.
