Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab/Interventional is a Full-time day shift position in Charlottesville VA with required call.

Hours: 4 nine-hour shifts 7am-430PM with required call.

Call requirements: 1 to 2 shifts per week and 1 weekend per month.

45 Minute response time required.

Sign on bonus up to $15000 available for qualified candidates.

About the department: The Cardiac Cath Lab team at SMJH is a dedicated group of 20 professionals including RNs cardiac invasive technologists RCIS and EP specialists who manage both inpatient and outpatient cases with an average of 10 procedures daily focusing on complex interventions within their award-winning STEMI program. The department offers a comprehensive 6-month orientation (3 months Cath 3 months EP) emphasizing procedural training and teamwork. Led by a longstanding leadership team this unit is known for its high retention rate and supportive environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in Cardiac Cath ICU CCU or cardiac step-down units and thrive in a collaborative patient-centered setting.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence- based practice /nursing research quality evaluation resource utilization and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

Registered nursing License (Required)
ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

Preferred: 1-2 years Cath/EP Lab Emergency Department or ICU experience. RN with cardiac step-down experience will be considered.
Critical care experience in hospital required
Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
intra-procedural patient care/monitoring and moderate sedation
