Responsibilities:
Incumbent performs broad range of basic facility maintenance duties related to electrical carpentry plumbing HVAC and other responsibilities as assigned on all campus buildings. The incumbent must also have a good basic understanding knowledge and the abilities to troubleshoot and complete assigned work orders relating to electrical carpentry and HVAC. The incumbent may be required to monitor and coordinate contractor/vendor projects and strive to maintain a safe desirable atmosphere for the building occupants of each addition incumbent will be required to be on the on-call maintenance rotation schedule. The incumbent works under indirect supervision and reports to the Superintendent of Facilities Maintenance.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED and three years of general facilities maintenance and/or construction experience are required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of technical education in a skilled trades area and related experience will also be accepted.
Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the universitys insurance carrier.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to prepare estimates for maintenance and repair projects.
Must have a broad basic knowledge and understanding along with the ability to complete work assignments in facility maintenance disciplines such as electrical general carpentry plumbing and HVAC.
Must have knowledge and ability to safely operate power tools and equipment that are required to complete projects in all maintenance disciplines.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and plans.
Must have good understanding of city county and state building codes.
Must have a good understanding of equipment operational safety guidelines.
Must have physical ability to perform duties as required with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to travel on university business and must be insurable by the universitys carrier.
