GHD has an excellent opportunity for anEnvironmental Field Technicianto join our team on a full-time 40-hour/week basis based out of our Baton Rouge LA location. This role is a hands on field position.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Responsibilities
- Inspection maintenance and gauging of environmental groundwater wells
- Ensure work is completed in a safe and compliant manner with respect to applicable OSHA GHD and client standards
- Generatequality field notes and enter collected field data electronically to database programs
- Perform site housekeeping inspections with attention to detail in GHDs operational area
- Operations and maintenance troubleshooting oversight and repairs of remedial equipment including groundwater recovery wells groundwater treatment unit and all associated physical and mechanical components
- Operate groundwater treatment systems including pumps filters and chemical dosing equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate records of system operations and maintenance activities
- Provide health and safety/construction oversight of contractors
- Work directly with clients and contractors
- Conduct vegetation maintenance using heavy equipment (i.e. tractor with bushhog attachment) and weed eating
- Health Safety and Environment: Follow the organizations health safety and environment (HSE) policies procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Ability to perform field work
- Ability to communicate across diverse occupational roles
- Commitment to safety applying a behavior-based safety culture in all aspects of the job
- Strong mechanical electrical and computer proficiency
- Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions such as hot/cold temperatures wet weather outside and around loud equipment and traversing rough terrains
- Ability to be a self-starter proactive flexible great teammate willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal direction
- Ability to analyze field readings data and operating parameters to optimize system operations
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience
- 0-3 years of previous industrial work experience
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER is a plus
- Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
- Experienced operator of heavy equipment is a plus
