At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. As an Employment Specialist / Job Coach youll play a vital role in carrying out that mission by guiding adults with disabilities or mental health challenges toward achieving their employment goals.
In this role youll help secure community-based job opportunities provide on-the-job coaching and training and serve as the primary connection between individuals and their VR counselors. Whether its evaluating skills building confidence or offering hands-on support in the workplace youll be the bridge that connects individuals to independence purpose and lasting success.
Full-time Schedule:
- Monday-Friday; flexible scheduling
Community Based Role:
- Travel throughout the Raleigh NC and surrounding areas
Your Role in Our Mission
The Employment Specialist / Job Coach supports adults with disabilities or mental health challenges in finding and maintaining meaningful community-based employment. This role focuses on building employer connections preparing individuals for job opportunities and providing on-the-job coaching and training. The Job Coach also serves as the primary contact for VR counselors and other agencies involved in supporting each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
Build relationships with employers to create job opportunities.
Assist individuals with resumes job applications and interview preparation.
Provide direct job coaching and training in community employment settings.
Conduct job task analyses to ensure individuals are supported effectively.
Maintain regular communication with individuals served and document progress in a timely manner.
Collaborate with VR counselors families case managers and other support agencies.
Ensure accurate case records and documentation in the electronic medical record system.
Model professionalism through attendance punctuality and teamwork.

What Were Looking For
- A High School diploma or equivalent. Assoc. or Bachelors preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of the labor market and community services agencies as well as skills in writing task analysis systemic job training counseling advocacy and supported employment are preferred.
- Must have a valid North Carolina drivers license cleandriving record and active insurance.
- Reliable transportation is necessary to service this community-based program.
