Sinceopening our first 13-bedroom House in Vancouver in 1983 RMH BC has continuedto grow to meet the rising need for 2014 we opened a new73-bedroom House on the grounds of BC Childrens Hospital along with a 2000sq. ft. Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Surrey Memorial 2025we expanded once again opening a new Family Room at Royal Inland Hospital inKamloops bringing comfort care and a place to rest to families in the BCInterior.

Asthe second-largest Ronald McDonald House in Canada and one of the largest inthe world RMH BC is planning for even greater impact. With exciting expansionplans underway we aim to double our capacity and impact across BC and theYukon over the next five years ensuring even more families can stay close whenit matters most.

Ourteam is the backbone of this mission; serving families supporting volunteersand donors and helping spread awareness every single day.

About the Position

Weare seeking a Food Services Associate who will work collaboratively within theFamily Services food team to support the delivery of our food program. Thisrole will work directly with RMH staff food partners volunteers and familieswhich requires the ability to interact in a thoughtful energized andforward-thinking manner.

Thisposition typically works 32 hours per week from Thursday to Sunday includingevenings no later than 8pm.

Dutiesinclude but are not limited to:

  • Work alongsideour food services team and volunteers to prepare food serve meals and cleanup.
  • Support ourchef-lead family meal programs.
  • Assist withpreparing grab n go bags freezer meals Lunch2Go snacks from scratchbaking celebration meals etc.
  • Receiving foodand kitchen supplies.
  • Monitor and trackinventory and kitchen equipment.
  • Help set up andtear down food service areas for events programs or meal services.
  • Assist withdishwashing sanitizing surfaces and proper waste disposal.

  • Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize multi-taskand meet deadlines well organized
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and ina team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft productivity suite (WordExcel Access Power Point).
  • A commitment to workingcooperatively in a team environment with staff volunteers families donorsand the public.
  • Compassion - Acts in acaring and inclusive way towards all guests volunteers and co-workersregardless of relationships to them and without regard to any individualdifferences.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in the food & beverage hospitality and/or nutrition & food service management industry and enjoy cooking& baking
  • Experience in food preparation in restaurants orhotels.
  • Food safe certification is an asset.
  • Experience working withvolunteers; interest in working with children and families
