SLD Laser a world leader in commercialization of gallium nitride (GaN) based laser light sources was acquired by KYOCERA Corporation and has commenced operations as a wholly owned subsidiary and group company of KYOCERA Corporation under the name KYOCERA SLD Laser Inc. (KSLD). KSLD is commercializing a new generation of gallium nitride-based laser light sources. KSLDs high luminance LaserLightTM sources are utilized in a myriad of applications including automotive & mobility specialty & portable lighting entertainment & outdoor projection & AR/VR displays biomedical instrumentation & therapeutics and industrial imaging & material processing.

Experience and Skills:

Job Description

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for meeting production forecasts and driving continuous improvement through the manufacturing process. They will provide hands-on support and directions to the operations team. This role will ensure quality and safety of the operation while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing. The ideal candidate strives to create an environment that is productive encourages open communication and strives to foster a collaborative environment.

Specific Responsibilities

Responsible for production including daily production planning delivery to plan production cost (FTT) first time yield safety quality targets and production staffing.
Maintain high product quality safety and yield while ensuring optimal cost use of resources and adherence to best safety practices.
Hire coach lead and develop large scale teams made up of hourly team members.
Support upgrades new product and material introductions by supporting design teams creating process plans and developing countermeasures for timely completion of project goals.
Drive high quality standards in everything we do such as process control systems monitoring and managing key product metrics consistency in documentation and 5S initiatives.
Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in safety environmental quality cost efficiency and productivity objectives. Provide feedback to management on issues benchmark other organizations for best practices.
Collaborate across boundaries for the best outcome by working with Sales Marketing Finance Engineering and Test and Quality departments.

Experience and Skills

Experience in a supervisory or lead role in a Wafer Fab or other high tech environment
Ability to work with minimum guidance in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Great organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work a compressed workweek.
Must have hands on experience in semiconductor processing
Ability to work well under pressure manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through.
Must be willing to work in B Shift hours: 6:00 pm-6:15 am (Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays with every alternate Wednesdays)
Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management.
The ideal candidate is analytical detail-oriented self-motivated well organized and able to pro-actively communicate with all employees and works well in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment.
Excellent verbal interpersonal and written communication skills
A strong sense of urgency and drive

The full-time base salary range for the Production Supervisor position is $102000 to $120000 per annum. The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location job-related skills experience and relevant education and training.
