Job Summary
Position: Registered Nurse Emergency Department (Night Shift)
Location:Syracuse NY
Schedule: 312 hr shifts per week (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) 36 hrs/week
Pay: Travelers $2520/week Local $2220/week
Job Description
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Adult Emergency Department (ED) night shift team at Upstate University this role you will also provide care in the Pediatric ED and float to other cross-campus ED units as needed. This position requires adaptability strong clinical skills and experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients in high-acuity settings. Trauma center experience is highly desirable.
Shifts include every other weekend and some holidays.
Responsibilities
Deliver safe evidence-based direct patient care in Adult and Pediatric ED settings.
Perform assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
Accurately document patient care and progress in the EMR (EPIC preferred).
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
Float to designated ED units within competency as required.
Qualifications
Active New York State RN license.
BLS certification (current or eligible for recertification).
Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care ED experience (within the last 2 years).
Prior work in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility preferred.
EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance drug screening and background check.
Preferred Skills
Level 1 trauma experience.
EPIC EMR proficiency.
