Job Summary
The school is seeking an ambitious English Teacher for a permanent full-time role at a highly academic Independent School in Hampshire commencing in January 2026. This key post involves teaching English Language and Literature up to A-Level with opportunities to contribute to the schools exceptional literary culture.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver highly challenging lessons in English Language and Literature across all key stages with a significant focus on A-Level.
- Develop students critical analyse skills advanced literary comprehension and sophisticated essay writing ability.
- Evaluate and track student progress meticulously providing bespoke actionable written and verbal feedback.
- Co-ordinate and contribute to the vibrant co-curricular life of the English department such as debating creative writing or literary societies.
- Utilise the schools extensive library and academic resources effectively.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in English Literature or Language.
- Proven experience teaching English to a high level ideally with knowledge of pre-U or comparable independent school curricula.
