Job Description

  • Art Teacher required to work on a full-time position from January 2026
  • Mixed 1118 academy in Sandwell West Midlands
  • Art Teacher to join a vibrant and well-resourced Creative Arts department

Our client is seeking a passionate Art Teacher to join a thriving secondary academy offering education from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will deliver Art across KS3 and KS4 with opportunities at KS5. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and ECTs who bring creativity innovation and a commitment to high-quality teaching.

School Information
This large 1118 academy is oversubscribed serving over 1400 students and has developed a strong reputation within the Sandwell community. The school has benefited from significant investment in facilities including dedicated art studios digital design suites and exhibition spaces to showcase student work. Learners are encouraged to develop their creative potential through both curriculum and extracurricular opportunities such as art clubs gallery visits and cross-curricular projects.

Academic performance is on a strong upward 2023 67% of students achieved grades 94 in English and Maths with a Progress 8 score above the national average. Creative Arts subjects are a real strength with GCSE Art achieving pass rates consistently above 80% and a significant number of students going on to A-Level and higher education in creative fields.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified Art Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with the ability to teach at KS3 & KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for the Arts
  • A creative and enthusiastic classroom practitioner
  • A formal teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or equivalent
  • Legal right to work in the UK
