Geography Teacher - Lambeth South London
We are actively seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a progressive secondary school in the diverse borough of Lambeth. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to foster a deep understanding of human and physical landscapes in a vibrant inner-London community.
The Role
The school is looking for a qualified Geography Teacher with experience teaching across all key stages up to GCSE and A-Level. The ideal candidate will be adept at making the subject relevant through local and global case studies field work and contemporary issues. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality engaging lessons in Geography to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level.
- Developing and implementing a dynamic curriculum that covers essential physical and human geography topics emphasizing sustainability and global interdependence.
- Thoroughly preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations ensuring strong attainment and critical thinking skills.
- Organizing and leading local fieldwork opportunities utilizing Lambeths unique urban environment as a living classroom.
- Collaborating with the Humanities department to share resources and contribute to a cohesive and stimulating learning environment.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding position you should have:
- A degree in Geography or a closely related environmental/social science discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level with a strong ability to teach at A-Level.
- A comprehensive understanding of the current curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication organisational and classroom management skills with a passion for global issues.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale) commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
