Computer Science Teacher - Hammersmith West London
We are actively seeking an innovative and highly capable Computer Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the vibrant borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. The Role
The school is looking for a qualified Computer Science Teacher with proven experience teaching the subject across all key stages with expertise up to A-Level. The successful candidate will be passionate about computational thinking programming and emerging technologies. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in Computer Science to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level.
- Developing and implementing a challenging curriculum that covers programming (e.g. Python Java) theoretical concepts algorithms and data structures.
- Thoroughly preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations ensuring strong analytical skills and high attainment.
- Encouraging student participation in extracurricular activities such as coding clubs robotics or hackathons.
- Collaborating with the department to integrate digital literacy and computational thinking across the wider curriculum.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding position you should have:
- A degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical or mathematical field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
- Proven experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary school level with a strong focus on A-Level content.
- Proficiency in key programming languages relevant to the curriculum and the ability to manage classroom technology effectively.
- Excellent communication and technical skills with a passion for problem-solving.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale) commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
