Job Summary
About the Role:
Seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our team supporting the State of Indiana Department of Health. The incumbent will coordinate and perform testing for SARS-CoV-2 Influenza A Influenza B RSV and other pathogens of public health concern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform RNA/DNA extraction and PCR testing.
- Apply molecular and standard laboratory techniques to ensure accurate results.
- Compile analyze evaluate and prepare laboratory reports.
- Maintain laboratory safety practices and follow state and federal regulations.
- Participate in proficiency testing programs and maintain high-quality standards.
- Communicate technical information effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Use specialized laboratory equipment for molecular testing.
- Adapt to changes in duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a biological science.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of molecular testing principles theories and practices.
- Experience with RNA/DNA extraction and PCR testing is required.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and state/federal regulations.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain productive working relationships in a team environment.
