HVAC Mechanical Estimator Assistant
Commercial Express HVAC located in Sterling VA is looking for a Mechanical Estimator Assistant to join our team. Job Description:
Critical tasks include reading and analyzing mechanical plans/specs and other bid documents communicating with vendors and communicating with general contractors/owners. We are looking for someone who can maintain strong relationships with current clients and develop new relationships over time.
Duties:
- Review and process bid invitations.
- Review drawings for accuracy and submit RFIs.
- Request and procure quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain file systems and compile bid documentation.
- Estimate projects from start to finish.
- Request and review shop drawings.
- Assist with project management.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-bid meetings.
- Request job permits.
- Create purchase orders and order equipment/material.
- Monitor job progress.
- Client relationship development.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong critical thinking abilities.
- Detail oriented.
- Willingness to learn.
- Excellent reading/writing and basic math skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and frequent deadlines.
- Self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Education and Experience:
- 1 years experience in mechanical or plumbing estimating required.
- 4-year degree and/or construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency with PDF software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
