Job Description
For Holiday Coverage Travelers are REQUIRED to work TWO of the following:
Thanksgiving and Friday/weekend after
Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and Friday/weekend after
New Year Eve/New Year Day and Friday/weekend after
NOTE Extensions that are requested to END in November or before the holiday starts in December will NOT be considered for an extension at the beginning of 2026
Patient Population: All ages
Must be able to move independently
POSITION EXPECTATIONS (Includes but is not limited to):Evaluates assesses and plans nutrition care to meet patient nutritional needs.
- Assesses patient nutritional status using documented medical information and established nutritional standards.
- Counsels patients and/or families by identifying nutrition-related problems. Develops plans of instruction and nutritional care and monitoring results.
- Identifies inpatients at nutritional risk and documents recommendations.
- Diagnose and develop intervention for patients with malnutrition
- Participates in physicians rounds discharge planning rounds and conferences with nutritional implications.
- Conducts education programs for patients community groups and staff.
- Precept and mentor new staff or existing staff in clinical specialty area.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with multiple subspecialty care team members and providers that enables planning and participating across a broader spectrum patient care.
- Cross-covers a broader spectrum of patient care areas and subspecialties as needed.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Non-Billable Orientation: 8hrs
Call Call-back and Charge: Not applicable for this need
OT: 1.25% multiplier
HOUSING FLYER: description :
- 3 years CURRENT Hospital Dietitian experience
- Rural hospital dietitian experience required
- Current VT Dietitian license
- Current Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Bachelor degree in Nutrition from accredited college/university required
- Perm address of candidate must be included in profile
- Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
- Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer. Please obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer
- Work History
- Skills Checklist (pertinent to position) current to 1 year
- 1 Supervisory Signed Reference (from within the past two years of employment)
- License/Certifications - Must be uploaded with profile
NOTE MT ASCUTNEY 3 STRIKE RULE FOR CALL OFFS (enforced immediately):
- After 3 call offs a travelers contract will be eligible for termination due to lack of attendance at Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Centers discretion
- Each call off must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
- BLS (AHA)
STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
- Vermont
ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
Weekend Requirements : TBD/Holidays required if needed
