Job Summary
A leading insurance underwriting business is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join their growing analytics team.
This is a great opportunity for a smart analytical thinker who enjoys working with data solving problems automating processes and contributing to data-driven business decisions. Youll work closely with underwriting and senior management teams on pricing product development and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Insights: Analyse claims premium and policy data; create dashboards and reports.
- Pricing Support: Assist in pricing model development and portfolio monitoring.
- Automation & Tools: Build scripts and tools in Python/SQL; support reporting and data processes.
- Collaboration: Work with underwriters IT and management to develop data-driven solutions.
- Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science Statistics Actuarial Engineering) with strong academic performance.
- Programming experience in Python and SQL.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables lookups basic VBA).
- Up to 2 years experience in data analysis BI or actuarial-type roles.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar tools.
- Bonus: Exposure to geospatial data or insurance industry.
