DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW
The Shipping Clerk I will demonstrate the ability and willingness to perform multiple job functions effectively by acquiring basic knowledge of lean with a focus on safety highest quality best known shipping and production practices and inventory control. This person will work in a team environment and will actively embrace continuous improvement by participating in Fortive Business Systems (FBS) initiatives and the ISC Kaizen program.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Comply with all applicable environmental health safety regulations. Complete all required safety training and understand the job hazards that are assessed in the area in which work will be performed. Ensure Hazmat DOT and ESD guidelines are followed.
- Duties include picking customer orders quality control order processing and hazmat quality control in accordance with work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Actively support and participate in a continuous improvement environment and other Lean activities through Fortive Business Systems (FBS) Kaizen and 6S programs.
- Contribute key metric information and participate in Daily Management (SQDIP).
- Demonstrate the ability to work as a team player across departments and shifts.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed or required.
ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
- The Shipping Clerk I will report to the Warehouse - Shipping Supervisorand works very closely with the Procurement Manufacturing Service & Customer Success teams.

- Basic PC and Microsoft 365 skills
- Familiar with Oracle EBS
- Familiar with BluJay UPS FedEx and DHL shipping software
- Multi-Modal Hazardous Material compliance
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Practical knowledge of Industrial Scientific products services and applications
- Demonstrated experience in Oracle eBS
- Familiar with IATA DOT and IMO shipping requirements
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1 year working in a shipping environment.
- DOT Hazmat or Multi-Modal Hazardous Material compliance
EDUCATION
- High School or equivalent experience in shipping or warehousing.
