  • Salary: $310000 $420000 depending on experience and market conditions

The Washington DC office anchors the practice with strong regulatory and enforcement capabilities.

Description:

The Senior Associate will join the Consumer Financial Services Litigation & Enforcement group. The role involves:

  • Advising financial institutions on federal and state consumer finance regulations

  • Counseling clients on regulatory compliance product development and risk management strategies

  • Representing clients in regulatory exams investigations and enforcement actions

  • Assisting with policy and legislative developments impacting consumer finance

  • Supporting litigation matters involving consumer financial services including class actions and complex disputes

This position offers significant client contact the opportunity to work alongside former government regulators and a platform to develop expertise in a dynamic and evolving field.

Qualifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school

  • 46 years of relevant experience in consumer financial services regulatory compliance enforcement or litigation

  • Strong academic credentials and prior law firm experience

  • Excellent legal research drafting and advocacy skills

  • Familiarity with federal consumer protection laws and regulations (e.g. CFPB OCC FTC DOJ or state regulators)

  • Bar admission in Washington DC (or ability to waive in)

Preferred Skill:

  • Prior federal or state government regulatory experience (CFPB OCC FTC DOJ or state AG offices)

  • Experience handling consumer finance regulatory exams or enforcement actions

  • Background in residential mortgage regulations and enforcement matters

  • Experience in class action litigation or complex financial services disputes

  • Strong client relationship management skills
